5/11/2011 · I guess this could have something to do with OpenGL 2.1/3.0+. The open source driver does not support 3.0+ yet but the proprietary does.

Visit Stack Exchange, 8/20/2019 · A common issue for Nvidia gpu users on Ubuntu is lacking the 32-bit opengl lib for the gpu… Nvidia’s installer sometimes ignores this dependancy even if the 32-bit arch is enabled and to fix it you have to sudo apt install –reinstall the whole nvidia driver (whatever version you’re using).
